Right Part, Easy Fix
This is a nicely priced part to do the inner tie rods. I got these for a 2010 Mercury Grand Marquis because the alignment shop couldn't work because the original parts were stuck. The steel part feels like its good quality, and the only down side seems to be the jam nut is smaller than OEM. The old tie rods were easily removed with the help of a special tool I also got at Advance Auto. It comes with a little grease packet. Use most of the grease on the main joint and a small amount on where the boot clamps to the rod. Its a pretty easy install. Since I had to put the car on jack stands, I did the inner and outers at the same time. Total work time for inner and outer on both sides was 4 hours. I think its best to do all when you have the car up. Once the replacements are made, be sure to get an alignment done.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
Right Part, Easy Fix
I bought these inner tie rods for a 2010 Mercury Grand Marquis. These are a good quality and right priced part to improve the steering of your car. I did both sides of the car, as you're supposed to do, with the car on jackstands. I had to remove the original parts, and the jam nut on one side was stuck. Probably will happen to anyone doing a repair, and its adds some time to the task for getting different tools. I used the AAP tie rod tool for the removal and replacement. It worked great. The big difference in the original part to this one is the size of the jam nut. Its much smaller here. But, the part is also half price from OEM or MOOG. I would say to figure 2 hours per side when doing this in the driveway of your man cave. You should do both sides at the same time, and you might as well do the outer tie rod ends. You will remove those to get to inners.
