Obviously a few different engineering differences, the bushings on the motor arms are tight you have to tap them in place by putting an old arm over TOP and giving it a tap LIGHTLY with a hammer. The splines on the arm side are slightly different the impression left by the old set up in the softer metal arm may need to be removed so you can get better adjustability on the arm for wiper position on the glass. Common misconception that the arm themselves have spines actually a new arm is smooth inside the hole so an old arm may have impression that needs to be smoothed in order to get proper wiper placement on the windshield.
