Toe Link (compensator link) For Explorer
Incase anyone needs to replace a rear Toe link(similar to a tie rod and end)on an 02' Explorer just take note there was a change in the size of the bolt that connects it to the knuckle.Change was made in March 02' (when mine was built)production line to a larger dia. bolt.Ford parts guy ordered me one and said mine probably had the smaller dia.(15mm) bolt version since it still had the original knuckle. The newer knuckle went to a 17mm bolt.Even giving him the VIN number he got me the wrong one.Had to put the old back on till I can get the 17mm version. If you have the earlier version and have the knuckle break during bearing replacement and they only have the 17mm version knuckle to replace it you will have to buy the newer Toe Link.Gets expensive.Just food for thought!
won't fit 2003 explorer with 16 inch rim
I had to remove grease fitting because it rubbed the wheel rim. Not an OEM replacement for 16"rimmed 2003 Explorer.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend
Grease Fitting Trouble
I installed on 2003 Ford Explorer. There is not enough clearance between grease fitting and wheel. So tight it felt like brake dragging. Dorman refused to help. You will have to find a plug to replace the grease fitting between greasing.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend
