Excellent replacement for stripped or broken bolt.
Saved my 2017 Terrain
I thought that I would need to repalce the cylinder head. The old bolt was so loose it damaged the threads in the head. Found this part with a google search. Saved a lot of time and money. Terrain survives again. 180K

An Absolute life saver
This Dorman repair part is ingenious and saved me a substantial amount of time and money. I was replacing the balance/timing chains, all guides and camshaft position actuators today and while taking the engine apart, the top front timing chain guide bolt had pulled out of the head and destroyed the original threads in the cylinder head. The hole was oblong so traditional thread repair techniques would no longer apply here. Luckily the local Advance had this in stock and saved the day. I believe this is actually an improvement over the original design and not just a bandaid,im confident this part will outlast the vehicle. Thanks Dorman!
Misinformation
I'm changing the timing chain and balance shaft chain on a 2012 Malibu, 2.4 ecotec VVT engine. The right side, long black timing chain guide was broken and the chain sheared the bolt. This bolt will not work for a 2.4 ecotect engine. The threads for this bolt are larger than the timing chain guide hole itself. You would have to drill out the guide and block and tap the block to make this work. This is crazy. I drove 45 minutes to figure this out. Don't waste your time.
