Dorman Third Brake Lamp Assembly

I bought this to replace the OEM neon bar third brake light in my 2002 Envoy. It burnt out and the lens has been faded something fierce for years. This was a lot cheaper than the OEM GM part, looks and feels like its very well built. HOWEVER, it was a very tight fit into the trim. I had to carve away at least 1/8" with my dremel tool on each end of the black trim for it to fit! Do NOT NOT NOT force it if it wont fit - you will crack the black trim. I did not crack mine, but read about it on the web so I was very very careful. Also, when routing the wiring, pull the wiring & grommet out of the roof first THEN disconnect it. DO NOT DISCONNECT THE WIRES FIRST. If you do, you will never be able to snake the connector back through the roof. If you do it right, its a matter of pulling the old grommet/connector out, reconnecting it to the new light bar, then pulling it back through and popping in the grommet from inside the truck with a small pair of needlenose. Be sure to route the new wiring properly including re-using the clip. Otherwise you will pinch the wires and be up the creek. I can be reached at technologic80 at yahoo with any questions. The 3rd brake light for my 2002 Trailblazer was shipped and delivered in a timely fashion. Great care was taken with the packaging and I appreciated it. I was told from the dealer that it was only available through the dealer. It was disappointing that I was not told the brake light could be purchased elsewhere. However, I was surprised to know that you had the best price on-line or in the store, since I was offered a discount with purchase. The store employee didn't tell me about the on-line discount - disappointed again. The light was installed by a mechanic who had to go back himself to see if I ordered the correct piece. It was correct but the light would not slide in for a flush fit. Because we weren't sure if ordering another light would be any different, he improvised and inserted the light just so it was even with the car. If you look closely, you may be able to tell it's not the perfect fit. Bottom line: It works fine, I passed inspection & I saved money by ordering on-line.

with the discount,the product was competively priced.the free shiping discount made it a smart purchase.an added bonus was the ability ,in the event a return is neccesary ,to make it at a local store or turning in a core,if need be.

this light did the job, at a better value that the original. for all purposes id recommend
