The drivers side window, on my 2004 Chevrolet Impala, would not go up without manipulating the switch for several minutes. I could tell that the glass was in the track, and the motor seemed to be working fine (no noise or grinding), so I decided it had to be the switch. After contacting the dealer for pricing, availability, and installation... I about choked on my coffee.
I bought the part online, got a terrific price, and picked the part up from the store. I then watched a very brief demonstration video online, and with this limited knowledge, and a Torx 27 driver, I installed this switch in less than 10 minutes. I removed one torx-head screw, removed the switch trim piece, popped the switch retainer out, unclipped two wiring harnesses, removed the old switch from the retainer, and reversed the process. It really was that simple.
The Dorman switch looks and feels like the OEM part. It appears to be well made, and it worked as expected the first time. I am very happy with this purchase, and ecstatic that I saved a bundle compared to dealer pricing.
