A fresh start on an awkward service situation

OEM filter cap nearly destroyed over the years . This design does not forgive over tightening, rather rewards the filter changer with a near impossible task of loosening a nearly round cap with limited working room. As a bonus its made out of plastic so all attempts are rewarded with crunching noise and little bits of cap.

This did not work with my vehicle. Kept leaking oil out even after tightening cap on to torque spec. Went with OEM and tightened to torque spec and didn't have anymore leaks.

I recently replaced my oil filter cap with the Dorman plastic oil filter cap, and I'm very happy with it. The fit was exactly like the OEM part — it threaded on smoothly and does not leak at all. Installation was quick and easy, and the quality feels solid and durable.
