I installed the 800-403 on a 2004 chevy tahoe but seems to be a little big and it will leak.what can be wrong???

        A:

Hi Mike! This Dorman - OE Solutions Heater Hose Connector (Part No. 800-403) are quick hose connector where they just snap over the inlet tube coming out of the heater core on the fire wall or rear core and make sure the retainer is completely seated in the connector before snapping it into the heater core. These are straight forward hose connects, unless the end of the heater core is damaged either pinched or stretched. However, I would suggest that you take your vehicle and get it thoroughly checked by a certified mechanic before buying any parts that may/may not solve the problem.

With respect to your inquiry on Dorman - OE Solutions Heater Hose Connector- 1999-90 FORD TRUCKS with 5/8 Inch Tube x 5/8 Inch Hose - Part No. 800-403, please follow these steps while removing the heater hose connectors on your 2001 Chevrolet Malibu LS 3.1L V6 Engine: In order to remove the coupler you just squeeze the two tabs (white in color) and remove the coupler. Inspect the installation of all of the heater hose routing in order to avoid contact with any obstruction that may result in a damaged hose. Some hoses are equipped with conduit in areas where rubbing may occur. When replacing a hose, ensure that the following components are in the same location as the original components: The conduit and the heat sleeving. Drain the engine coolant. Squeeze the tabs on the quick-connect in order to disconnect the heater hose from the heater pipe. Disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core. Connect the heater hoses to the heater core. Connect the heater hose to the heater pipe quick-connect. Pull on the hose in order to verify the connection. Fill the engine coolant.
