For longer than I can remember, greater than 2 years - the overhead interior lights of the 2008 Explorer would randomly come on while driving. This was especially bothersome at night, and dark early morning, making the windshield appear mirror-like. Removing the factory ignition and dismantling the cylinder was easily accomplished with the special tool provided in the Dorman kit, and re-assembly was simple also. Following the directions, the original tumblers were removed from the factory assembly and laid out (and written) on the supplied diagram. It took less than an hour, and was far less frustrating than assembling an Ikea dresser to build the new lock assembly and install it into the low mileage Ford. Problem solved. I just wonder why the dealer's "Factory Trained and Authorized" team of mechanics wasn't able to offer even one recommendation to solve this annoyance. I s'pose the old saying "If you want something done right, you've got to do it yourself" still rings true. With Advance Auto to back me up, I can do that.
I would recommend this product
