More to it than meets the eye
This looks simple enough to install, but there is a lot more to do. I forgot that you need to remove the water pump to install this pipe. Advanced Auto Parts could make more money if they posted that info with the part.
example: to replace this part you need to drain antifreeze and remove the belt and water pump. Do you have antifreeze and water pump gasket? How bad is the belt worn?

Decent Replacement part
shape and bends are perfect for replacement, however it does not seal well on the re-manufactured water pump I also bought from advance. Going to try to find a gasket or something to create the leak proof seal I need.

Would not thread fully into original or replacement water pump for 1998 Jeep XJ 4.0L. Thread diameter out of spec...larger than OEM.

On a Jeep Cherokee (XJ) with 4.0 engine, the water pump must be removed to install this inlet tube. Otherwise, too many things are in the way to install with the pump on.
When installing the water pump inlet tube, should I use teflon or any other sealant on the threads to help keep it water tight?
