front axle trouble?
If your front axle wont engage this could be the problem. Ive went through 4 or 5 axle vacum acuators that go under the battery tray. The problem is this part often fails and leaks transfer oil into your vacum system. the oil was causing the diaphram on the acuator to rot in months or sometimes just weeks. The oil will also get into your heater vacum controls. i hope this saves someone else the winter time anger and frustration that I have had.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Fast, easy, inexpensive.
99 Blazer would not fully dis-engage from 4WD. When trying to put in 2WD, there was a grinding noise coming from front end. Went away when in 4WD, came back in 2WD. Installed this part and problem solved. Switches back and forth with no problem. Grinding noise gone! Part sits on top of transfer case and is hard to see from under truck. I used a mirror and flash light which made the job a breeze. 5 min repair! You need a 7/8 inch wrench to install and don't forget the little rubber gasket. Use the old one because new part does not come with one.

Go with ac/delco.
It does not come with the rubber seal ring which is Very important I can't believe that they left this off of the part it was in a sealed package.
