Harder than expected to install
Flimsy "C" Clip and Mounting Bolt
Verified Buyer -
Cables seem fine, but mounting bolt and flimsy "C" clip won't hold up. They provide two "C" clips that are very easy to lose. For an extra penny, they could have included two more. I spent two days looking for one and found it rattling inside the tailgate. The bolt assembly could also use some spacers as the cable is very loose on the bolt. I'd use caution when standing or sitting on the tailgate. The original rivited bolt had no wobble and was a pain to remove. Had to find someone with a flat disc grinder and punch. The tailgate cables had a Chevy recall until 2014, but I was too late.

It takes quite a bit of modification to install this cable for a S10. The clip that attaches the cable to the tail gate is very flimsy and will not last.
Cables OK, pin & clip not the greatest

Cables are good quality, pins and clips could be better. A little work to install. Must either drill out or grind off old pins to remove old cable ends. I used a metal cutoff wheel to grind off heads of old pins. New pins seem kind of loose in existing holes and pins are holding but seem a little flimsy. So far so good, 1 year replacement so we'll see how long they last. They do tuck away nicely when tailgate is closed. I rated 3 stars. Slight difficulty installing. Not for the average guy. Should have some mechanical ability to install.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
Works Great! No issues!

Purchased it for my 2001 Chevy S10. The assembly is easy. Removing the broken one was a pain. But after that, the cable works great and I am satisfied of the outcome.
