Just received this in the mail a few days ago and it already broke. It broke the second time the window was closed.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend
I would not buy this product
As soon as I opened the package I was worried it would break. Once I screwed the pieces in place, I was worried the thin plastic latch would snap and it did the first time I used it. Don't buy. Complete waste of money. I'm currently looking for metal latches instead of plastic.

So far, so good
I was worried about the reviews that said this latch is flimsy. It does seem that way when you get it out of the package, and I was a little hesitant to bend the plastic in two places where it needs to bend to make the latch work. It fits perfectly and seems fine. I just installed it a couple of days ago, though. I used the good tip from another reviewer, who recommended using the old screws. In my case, the old screws have finer threads than the new ones.
