Dorman - Help Shifter Cable Bushing Kit (OE Fix)

It wasn't easy to get in but then again I was under my jacked up on driver front side truck when I did it and couldn't fit all the way under. It kept going to the side and not straight in so then i took a tiny amount of dish soap around the part that went into the shift cable and after a couple minutes I was able to get it in the shift cable hole. I was hoping the second part would click in but it didn't for me so I was and still a tiny bit worried whether it will stay on but it seems pretty tight now. I did take robogrip pliers and try to make it tight as possible. The part that that looks like it would clip in (but didn't for me) to hold everything tight did seem to be a little close to the transmission pan at first but I drove around the neighborhood after install and nothing seemed to rub and when I checked again it didn't seem to be as close as I had first thought. Maybe I'll get another one to leave in the vehicle in case it happens again in (hopefully) many years from now.

Garbage part! I don't drive the vehicle very often, maybe a couple hundred miles per week and this part has only been installed for about a week and it has already failed. Do yourself a favor if you want to fix this shift cable bushing without replacing the cable. Go to www dot bushingfix dot com and they will send you a part that is much higher quality. It takes a few days for your order to be delivered, but once installed you won't have to worry about it failing or coming off again. I used one in the past and it lasted 2 years without a problem before selling the vehicle, and they offer a lifetime warranty if it does fail. I didn't want to wait 3-4 days to have one shipped so I bought this one. Shame on me, I ordered the good one from www dot bushingfix dot com and it should be here in the next day or so and then I'll be back on the road again.
