Not an exact fit
I bought this for a 2002 Mustang. After removing the switch, I removed the existing rod and knob. Tried to put the new one in but the diameter of the rod was too big and it wouldn't lock in. Took back to the store and had the manager verify it. I decided to keep it because I only really need the knob. Removing the new knob and installing it on the old rod was a pain. Hopefully it will last a while.

Worked great. I'd hoped to just replace the knob and use the existing rod, but we couldn't get the new connector and knob over the old rod. We removed the dash panel and replaced the rod. We then replaced the panel and pushed on the new knob to the new rod.
