Can I find a short in a headlight wiring system with this tester

Hi Matt, I'm glad to help you! This Dorman - Conduct-Tite Circuit Tester - Light/Sound Hook Probe with Interchangeable Tips (Part # 86273) will only show if the line is conduct, if it does not show, it could be a broken line or the tester point is placed at the wrong line.
