I bought the Platinum in 2015 and it has been a solid 5 plus tears through North East winters. It's demise came about by lack of use during Covid-19 Pause. I drove a good 25 miles to recharge the battery and it held the charge but would not hold more than a week without driving. Yesterday I took my 2007 Lexus ES-350 out for a drive to the market and today it wouldn't start. I headed to the Advance Auto which had the rebranded Autocraft Premier. I really wanted to know if they used the Die Hard technology but the batteries looked exactly the same which was fine with me. Way too soon if that's the plan anyway I suppose. The price rose significantly if 5 years with the name change- much faster than the rate of inflation. a good 25%. My battery history with this vehicle was an OEM battery until 2012 when I nought an Autocraft Gold that lasted just shy of 3 years. (My wife's gold has 4 years but is ready for replacement as well.) So my history with the Advance Auto batteries is 3-4 years with the Gold and 5 years with the Platinum. Pleased. The service at Advance is consistently outstanding. I place my order online and look for a sale code on Google. If I can't find one they offer 15% on the web page. Then I order the battery. I give the local store a call to find out if they are busy and with about 6 batteries between my wife and myself my average wait to be serviced is no longer than 15 minutes. All in all- Auto Zone is a place I trust with my car.

First ever bought a brand new Platinum Diehard AGM battery from a store on Bel Pre Rd, Colesville, MD, and after spending time to remove and put the new one in, no light came on. I brought it back to the store the next day. A salesrep tested, saying the battery cells tested good, but it didn't hold enough charge so she needed to charge for 35 minutes and see. I asked to return, but was told "No return accepted until she could confirm it was a bad one". More than 90 minutes later, I returned to the store and got the confirmation that the battery was bad (it had a sticker 2/2021 on it, and I assumed it was manufactured in Feb 2021 -- only 10 months before my purchase), then they processed a return and I bought another one with the 9/2021 sticker. Finger cross for a 3-year warranty item! Will not buy a battery from Advanced Auto Parts again after this incident.
