Finally replaced the old OEM plugs that were installed several years ago, though I've only clocked about 35K miles in 6 years. The truck is a '99 S-10, 4 cylinder automatic, daily driver with 118K on the clock and it had been unusually anemic accelerating for awhile. I bought the Denso Platinums as most reviews were positive and the price was right.
I put them in and started it up: WOW, engine's running smoooooooth, quiet, I can hardly notice the drag when the A/C turned on. Now, this is a daily driver, not driven hard since this engine/trans is pretty pedestrian and even moreso with the A/C on, but the Densos have amazed me with the improved performance. Fuel mileage appears to be up too but I need a few more tankfuls before I can quantify this.
Great product, IMO.

I installed these on a 2006 GMC Sierra 5.3L V8 with 117,000 miles. I was getting 16.5mpg mixed. After installing these, I noticed an instant decrease in power, it idled poorly, and my average mileage over 4 weeks has been 14.3mpg. My advice is look elsewhere. Spend the extra money, use a coupon code, and get the AC 41-805 or 962 plugs for $5 each.

My owners manual calls for a Denso spark plug, part number; PTZ16R15. While I have no doubt your listing PT16TT will "exact fit", how can you prove to me this is the correct spark plug. I really only want to do this job once.

02 has to be gapped to .06, I know this thread is old but the only year that needs to be gapped to .06 is 02 unless it is an iridium plug then it stays at .04 but that only applies to iridium plugs.

I have 2002 Z71 Suburban w/ 5.3 /flex fuel. Haynes Manual calls for NGK PZTR-5A15 or equivalent. Manual says 99-03 Gap should be .06 V8 and V6. Advance site states gap should be .04. Someone is wrong.

  • Q:

I have a 1999 Lincoln town car with a 4.6 L. I noticed that the reach is slightly different between your Denso PT16TT (45.11)and your OE Motorcraft (SP 493). (Denso .708 inch) (Motorcraft (.679)inch). Will this make any difference? Also I must change the gap to .054 inch. That means that you have an angle in the lateral electrode to overcome the difference in gap. Does this angle of the lateral electrode make a difference? It looks like from your other posts that the OE recommended gag is preferred? I have always been taught to stick to the OE manufactures recommendations. (under hood sticker)
