Besides the satisfaction of doing it yourself the cost savings is tremendous. The Buick dealer wanted almost $400 for this brake job. I did it myself for a little over $100 by combining the sale price with a rebate.
I changed rotors too, and snapped a torx bit on the first one because I didn't think ahead. On the other side, first thing, I sprayed the set screw and lug bolt bases with PB Blaster, then tapped the rotor a few times with a 3 pound sledge to vibrate the oil into the threads. When the time came, the set screw came right out and the rotor popped off with one tap of the hammer.

Casting seems a little to big.
Pads were good and they include shims and a little packet of greese (but some strongly recommend silicone). The only problem is they were very difficult to get into the shims. I think they are cast with a litlle edge on the top of the shim tooth. This is bad because they must be able to slide on the shim as the pads wear down. I used Advance Auto part finder to get the ones for my Malibu so pretty sure they were the right ones. Now I'll have to check after a few thousand miles to see if they are wearing evenly. Braking is perfect, no noise, no pulling, stops perfectly straight with no hands on the wheel. We'll see.
