Comments about Carquest Wearever Brake Hydraulic Hose:

I compared this to the factory piece that came off and the hard line bends from the banjo fitting were off by 30 degrees. This line has to travel behind the spindle and above the CV boot. I had to bend the tubing (carefully so not to kink) to keep from rubbing on the steering knuckle otherwise the metal on metal contact would create a very dangerous situation with time. The product quality was typical for something manufactured in a "high growth region."

Comments about Carquest Wearever Brake Hydraulic Hose:

Got there as part of my front brake job. My caliper, lines, and pads were all in bad shape. My 2000 jeep grand cherokee has lots of rust from being in the north for a number of years. These were a perfect fit and the best price around.

      • Q:

Brake hose specs for PN H620185 and 186 state that end 2 is a M10 X 1.0 female fitting. The original and all other fitting on my Jeep are 3/8 x 24 flares. After installation, the fittings leaked and had to be over torqued to seal. Note, the fitting I unsed on the steel lines are 3/8 x 24 as original and screwed in easily. Is the new hose fitting incorrect for my Jeep application? I never had leak issues with flare fitting in the past. Something does not seem right here. This hose is listed as adirect replacement.

          A:

I'm happy to help, Greg! I found that the correct specifications for Wearever Brake Hydraulic Hose (Part No. H620185) should state that end 2 is Female - 3/8"-24 and Part No. H620186 end 2 should also be a Female - 3/8"-24. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention so that we may correct the specifications. I do see that new gasket washers need to be installed when installing the new hoses. If you have not already, I suggest consulting a repair manual to verify the installation procedures (Haynes Part No. 50025).

These brake hoses should be the size you require. If the parts are not correct, I suggest returning them to your local Advance Auto Parts store with your receipt for an exchange or refund.
