Check Vehicle Fit

Each brake hose is precision engineered to exact fit and includes brackets, grommets, molded plastic guards, wire clips, and protective sleeves as required to ensure that all wearable parts are restored to original condition. Brake hoses meet or exceed DOT, Federal Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS 106) and SAE J1401 standards. All tubing is manufactured from high grade steel and electroplated with a zinc coating delivering superior corrosion and rust resistance against elements such as high humidity, road salt, water, and grime. Every brake hose is subjected to a high pressure quality assurance test before leaving the factory, ensuring trouble free installation and operation of your new hose. Brake hoses with banjo end fittings include new copper washers to ensure proper sealing.

This fit like a glove. The old one came off, this went in perfect without a problem. It's working just as it should.

Fits but washers may be too thin

Comments about Carquest Wearever Brake Hydraulic Hose:

The included banjo bolt washers are too thin - the bolt to unit washer works OK but the unit to caliper washer doesn't compress and therefore doesn't seal. The store recognized the problem after I described it, however, and pulled washers out of a caliper box for me. Also, the kit DOES NOT include the retaining clip that attaches to the hose end at the steel line side near the shock.

Removal was tough - it is advisable to soak the steel line in penetrant and also heat it. Use a line wrench and be sure that the steel line isn't twisting. The clip can only be removed from the existing hose AFTER the steel line is disconnected. Be sure the steel line fitting turns freely once removed so that you can begin threading it into the replacement part without cross-threading. On this side my steel line twisted and broke - luckily it's closest to the hydraulic control unit.

I've thought about replacing this hose on the last few brake jobs because it was worn at the point where it transitions from metal to rubber but knew it would be a bear. I was right...but it had to be done.

        Decent enough, but cheap metal.

Comments about Carquest Wearever Brake Hydraulic Hose:

I was tightening down the hard-line end of the hose, only to feel the dreaded jolt and loosening of the fitting, indicating one of them had stripped. I took them apart to find that the brake hose had completely stripped out. Maybe I got a defective unit, and I will be taking it back to advanced to try to get a replacement, but I know I wasn't wrenching down hard enough to strip the threads out like I did.
