It stops perfectly!
I did a simple pad replacement on my 05 Acura TL. I originally used these pads simply because they were cheap and I didn't have the money at the time to replace my stuck caliper. They worked great as a Band-Aid at the time, but I figured I would use them with the new caliper too. They work just fine, with no abnormal brake dust on the wheels, brake fade, spongy pedal or anything. I don't see any reason to go to the Platinum unless you are just picky like that. I had worse luck with the Wearever Gold and Platinum than I did with these Silver's!

Hi Gerald, I'm glad to assist you! The "ears" are the metal tabs on either end of the brake pad. These ears fit into the slots in the clips to hold the pads. Some of the grease can be applied to the ears and between any loose metal shims, too.
