Original starter in 2001 Buick Regal failed after 160000 faithful miles. My car would still start but the internal spring failed and made the bendix grind against my flywheel when I turned right (think like a playing card in a bicycle spoke) *yikes awful noise*. Thinking I was getting an amazing deal (im a broke college student) I replaced OEM Ac Delco starter with a junkyard find. That 10 dollar junkyard replacement lasted 2 weeks and I found myself here. Cant beat a lifetime warranty, great price, and picking up in store. This unit is much smaller than original Ac Delco style, but seems just as well constructed. Bolted on no issue and even came with solenoid nuts. They accepted core no problem and have 20 bucks in my pocket now. I love this store.

About 10% of the time my current starter would turn over hard. I replaced the battery since it was old anyway. No difference. I replaced the starter with this one. It's worse than the one I removed that had 105K on it. I assume it takes more juice to run. And, it sounds like the old Mopar starters did back in the 60s-70s. I didn't even turn in the core since I would rather use the old starter than replace this Carquest rebuild with another piece of Carquest junk. I usually buy quality replacement parts - serves me right that I have had this experience. I'm now hunting connection issues.

Worked for a week
Installed the starter on my 01 Firebird, left me stranded after one week. Best to just buy new.

Fits like the original. However, the leads are reversed which caused a little bit of creativity. Other than that, the starter works just fine.
