An essential component in the diesel electronic control system, this sensor provides the vehicle powertrain control module (PCM) with fuel rail pressure. The PCM uses this to control fuel rail pressure in conjunction with the high-pressure fuel pump. Failure of this component can result in a check engine light, poor drivability and excessive exhaust emissions.
