Wrong type for 4wd

5 stars for filter, 2 for gasket.
The filter is a transmission filter. It fits my 2wd 4r100 and works perfect no complaints there. However the gasket is basically junk. It will work but if you go near the factory torque spec it will get crushed and leak. Get the bolts barely snug and it'll work. Problem is the pan bolts like to back out when their barely tight. Use a factory type gasket or reuse the old one. If the old one is hard but not cracked you can wash the oil off it an use rtv to make it seal again. Good filter, lousy gasket.

NOT THE RIGHT PART
My transmission is a 14-bolt deep pan. This is for a 20-bolt (shallow?) pan transmission. It REALLY SUCKS to order online, not have a choice selection spot, have the entire thing drained and torn apart to find out this is the wrong part. It's aggravating to have to pack it all up, go back to the store and get the correct part, then have the cashier mess up the return process (different story...grrr..) to get back to the garage and complete the job. Come on, Advance. You can do better!

Vehicle selection does not let you choose a transmission. I received the wrong filter. Suggest calling a store to give them transmission info ahead of ordering online.

Your website said this was the correct trans filter for my 2002 F150 v6, it was completely wrong. It was fortunate that I had a friend helping me, that could drive me back to the store to get the correct filter to finish the job.

One star simply b/c the online order I made that stated "perfect fit" for my vehicle did not in fact fit my truck. I had to take it to the store and swap for another (I had to take my son's bike to the store since my truck was not able to drive.
Wrong type
Writing this to warn other 4r100 transmissions this filter is for the 2wd shallow pan with the short neck. As of today, no note in the description for compatibility. This review is not a judge of the product.
