This is meant to replace OEM alternator. Fits and looks right. The original lasted 45 years. This one should go a long time.

Use this part at your own risk......
Alternator was bad out of the box. The brush contacts were loose making hooking up the spade terminals difficult. Once installed the voltage varied from 14 volts while driving, to 5 volts when coming to a stop, causing car to stall out. Idling in park, the headlights got brighter as the gas pedal was depressed and dimmer as engine throttled down. Alt belt was tight. Advanced replaced it no questions. The second alternator worked like a champ. It's installed on a 70 Monte Carlo. 1 star for parts only, service was great.

The description for Part # 7122A says "CARQUEST Alternator - Remanufactured - 61 Amps". The specifications for Part # 7122A says "Amperage Rating: 55 A" and some of the answers for the Q&A under this part also do not match the specifications listed. I'm not sure what is correct/incorrect on the web page for this. Can you verify or correct the following specifications for Part # 7122A...
