Could a faulty alternator cause the headlights and flashlights vary in brightness while the engine is under load such as driving uphill even at above 1500 rpm? I don't know if these alternator are internally or externally regulated.

Hi, I'm glad to help you! Flickering or dim headlights are a strong signal that your alternator may not be working correctly. The alternator provides power to the headlights, so the flickering usually means the alternator is struggling to perform. However, without the presence of your vehicle we would not be able to properly diagnose it, nor provide you with a 100% answer. I would suggest that you take your vehicle and get it thoroughly checked by a certified mechanic.
