The Acceleration Sensor, also known as the Yaw Rate Sensor, is a component related to the vehicle stability system. The BCM (Body Control Module) uses the input from this sensor to identify a vehicle stability fault such as a vehicle skid condition in a sideway motion or an out-of-control direction. To bring the vehicle back into control the BCM will activate the electronic braking system activating individual wheels to direct the vehicle back into a forward motion.
