Not quite designed right
Submitted 4 years ago
Bought this guy because I replaced my '04 Odyssey's power steering hose, and there was no way I was getting the old switch off the old hose to reuse. Long story short, this part has been a royal pain.
First issue I encountered was this switch doesn't quite create a snug fit with the hose, and so it seeped just a little bit. I wasn't too bothered by this, since it was far better than what I dealt with on my old hose. However, this was just the start of my troubles. Somewhere between then and now, the switch really broke, and now I rapidly lose fluid at an alarming rate. I have to refill the system nearly every day. I'd chalk this up to being a defective unit, however it seems this is all from a poorly designed part as per all the other negative reviews. Definitely buy this part elsewhere if you can.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend
Intermotor Parts Are Usually Good - Not This One

After 17 years or so, the original Honda P/S Pressure Switch finally began leaking. I picked up the Intermotor PS207, thinking I'd never have to do the job again...it can be a bit of a pain to change the switch.
After less than a year, the Intermotor part began leaking. I picked up the (no charge) replacement, and chalked it up to a sample defect.
Well, after another 10 months, the (second) replacement started gushing fluid. I'm getting pretty good at the job now, so it doesn't take too long. But even though the units are lifetime guarantee, it is still a wasteful, messy nuisance.
Advance/Intermotor should review the issue with their supplier...they are certainly using materials or processes that result in an inferior, short-lived switch.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend
I'd also give this as a gift to my worst enemies.

This particular power steering switch has grooves that stop right before it reaches the gasket. Which leaves a gap that causes the oil to drip out after it's been put on. Of course I didn't know that. I went and wasted money on buying tool after tool, including that trash socket set I reviewed somewhere on this site, to tighten it. Im sure I've lost years off the end of my life due to the stress that this little demon switch has caused me. On the plus side my arms are ripped from driving without power steering for a month. Either this piece needs to have a much bigger gasket included or the devil makes after market parts like these specifically to mess with humanity. Either way bravo. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Good Warranty - Short Life

I am accustomed to Intermotor parts being reliable. However, I picked up this switch to replace the identical part that I purchased only last year. While I'm glad it has a lifetime warranty, it is a minor pain to replace. And when it leaks, it makes a mess in the engine compartment & the driveway...plus the cost of a bottle of Honda PS Fluid. The original switch lasted 18 years; an aftermarket part should last at least half as long as an OE part.
