Direct replacement and working well.
Much more aggravating to replace on the 02 impala than I had assumed it would be. Hard to get the connectors out of the old one. The product is great though. Exact match. Make sure the key is turned the right way or the lock won't let you put the shifter cable back in. Its just a little plastic piece that flips back and forth in there, but it stops the shifter cable from seating correctly. Other than that it went back in quite easily. I saw where others had trimmed the plastic piece off and gotten it to work, but its supposed to be there.

Short lifespan
The people at the store were very helpful and friendly. That was nice after the first switch failed in just a week or so. The 2nd is over 3 mos old now.
