This failed and left me stranded
Submitted 5 years ago
This product failed. The diaphragm broke and allowed fuel into the engine that resulted in hydraulicing and seizing the engine-needing a tow. I cleaned out the engine and got another one and that failed to give the correct pressure. I ended up using an old regulator that I had in a pile of parts to get my engine finally running.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend
Verry good

Hi Tom, I'm glad to assist you! If you can hear the fuel pump running you may want to check actual fuel pressure to verify the pump is outputting enough pressure to make the vehicle run. Also check to verify the injectors are getting signal using a noid light. Hope these tips help you out.
Will it cause a 94 tapax to idle fast in park, run good but put it in park and the car idle over 2000 rpm?

Symptoms of a bad faulty pressure regulator: Discolored Spark Plugs: Your vehicle's spark plugs might be sooty-colored. Remove a spark plug and inspect the tip. If it is blackened, your vehicle's fuel pressure regulator might be bad. Tail Pipe Smoke: Your vehicle's exhaust should emit only white smoke, but black smoke will issue from the tail pipe if the fuel pressure regulator is not functioning correctly. Engine Problems: You might have to turn the ignition several times to get the engine to start. The engine might jump or run roughly while idling. Also, it can lose power when you step on the gas pedal. Gasoline Leak: You might see fuel leaking from your vehicle's tail pipe. A bad fuel pressure regulator can cause the leak if it permits fuel to flow into the lines. I have a 1992 ford f150 pickup with the 4.9 six. it floods when you start it. will finally clear up, but will flood the next time it is started. any help would be appreciated.

Worn fuel injectors can also cause flooding in rotary engines. When flooded, rotary engines become very difficult to start. To unflood a rotary engine, fuel flow must be cut while the engine is turned over by the starter in order to clear out excess fuel.On a fuel-injected engine, ignoring the throttle (no fuel) while starting permits electronic logic systems to choose the correct fuel mixture, often based on exhaust gases. In either case, 'pumping' the throttle will only make it worse as that pumps even more excess fuel into the engine. However, some fuel injection computers interpret 'pumping' the throttle to indicate a flooded engine, and accordingly alter the fuel-air mix. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.
Could it cause codes
173 Ford HEGO (HO2S) sensor fault/rich
412 Ford Cannot control RPM during KOER high RPM check
538 Ford Invalid cylinder balance test due to throttle movement during test
On a 1994 F150 W/4.9
Open Reply - Steve
Code 173 HEGO (HO2S) sensor fault/rich should be the code for the oxygen sensor. A vacuum leak, EGR system or something should be causing the ECM to increase injector on time giving that rich code you are getting and the ECM usually responds to the signal from the O2 sensors. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis.
