Leaks at pully after a few months
Submitted 4 years ago
Seems to be common problem with these Cardone power steering pumps. They can be replaced under warranty, but the time and expense of changing the thing out again plus having to replace the fluid and belt makes me wonder if I should just cut my losses and get a different one (hopefully with better quality seals). Hopefully, all the power steering fluid that has been getting on my engine, a/c compressor, alternator, etc. won't have much harmful effect.

Leaks at pully shaft after a couple months

Poor quality control. shouldn't leak at pull shaft seal if it was a quality rebuild. Has a warranty, but it's a pain to replace the same pump so quick :/

Leaks at pulley shaft

Didn't hold up for long. Not sure exactly when it started leaking but noticed it was leaking at the pulley shaft after 7 months. In warranty, but doesn't cover labor, fluid, new belt, engine cleaner, etc. Bit of a headache and hope it doesn't affect my alternator that sits below it and got fluid gummed on it.

Great part fit like a glove easy to change too. Just make sure to buy an inline filter and do a flush before running this one.

The pump came defective, leaking right out of the bat...none of the stores had any in stock.
