Comments about Bars Leak Liquid Aluminum Radiator Stop Leak (16.9 oz):

This is an excellent product. I was stuck on side of the interstate last weekend with a pinhole leak in the radiator and all the antifreeze had ran out. Luckily I had a friend bring a bottle of Bars Radiator Stop Leak. It stopped the leak immediately after pouring it down the radiator hose and adding water. I drove 80mi home with no issues. Keep a bottle in your tool box for roadside fixes. A++

I put in 2 bottles in radiator of my 98 v-6 3.8 Firebird and it STOPPED the major radiator leak.....I've driven it for 3 years and no leaks! Couldn't afford radiator replacement, great cheaper option to keep car running.

Comments about Bars Leak Liquid Aluminum Radiator Stop Leak (16.9 oz):

Stopped an unexpected, unplanned heater core leak on day one 1 a 3 day drive. Kept the leak sealed in the heater core for 9 months (my son was taking it to school) until it got back home where I could repair it. Also, the Bars helpline is very helpful. I do all of my own mechanic work (for 30 yrs) and I use this to stop the little annoying leaks that develop. I really just prolongs the time before a permanent fix is needed, but that time can be a long time and I have had no bad side effects with its use.

Worth trying, but if leak is bad, you will need a new radiator.

Comments about Bars Leak Liquid Aluminum Radiator Stop Leak (16.9 oz):

My 1999 Ford Expedition's heater core began to leak rather badly. Called 3 mechanics and the price to fix was between $880.00 to $1,100.00 because in order to get to the heater core in a Ford, one must pull the dashboard and the center console. Everything must be disconnected including the AC lines. So a $100.00 heater core becomes a labor intensive job because of the basic bad design of most cars.
I picked up a bottle of Bar's Liquid Aluminum Radiator Stop Leak, poured it into the system and in less than 1 minute the leak stopped.
I just drove 220 miles in 98 degree heat with the AC on full and not a leak, not a dribble, not a drop.
              This stuff really works!

I had a pretty bad leak on my radiator in a 98 jeep grand cheerokee. Added this to radiator, then let engine idle for 20 mins. At bout 17 mins the leak has stopped. Nothing wrong with engine or nothing. When adding additives don't drive vechiles, idle them. If give additives proper time to do their job right.

All these products are guaranteed to safely and easily seal leaks in plastic, aluminum and metal radiators, heater cores, gaskets and freeze plugs. For more information, I would suggest that you contact the Bar's Leak directly at 1-800-345-6572 and they would be in a better position to help you.

Hi Hanum, tricky question! Kindly follow the instructions to use this Bars Leak Liquid Aluminum Radiator Stop Leak on your radiator. Allow your engine to cool. Make sure engine is cool enough so radiator cap can be safely removed. Shake Liquid Aluminum™ well and pour it directly into radiator. One bottle treats systems up to 4 gallons, so use ½ bottle for four cylinder engines. Fill radiator and overflow tank to proper level and re-install the radiator cap. Drive/idle your engine for 10 to 20 minutes. If leak continues, second application may be required or mechanical attention is needed. For severe leaks, like a blown head gasket, it is recommended to use Bar’s Leaks Head Gasket Fix or Head Gasket & Cooling Sealant. Leave BAR’S LEAKS Liquid Aluminum in the cooling system for continued protection. This product may help, but I would always recommend fixing the problem by finding out exactly the cause of leak and then replacing the necessary parts.
