A surface gap plug provides exactly what its name describes - a gap at the surface of the combustion chamber. The gap is an annular configuration. The center electrode and insulator tip operate extremely cold (no heat rating) and are therefore nearly impervious to pre-ignition. Power tip X does not use a side ground electrode, eliminating the need for indexing of the spark plug and any gap setting adjustments. This innovative design also reduces the volume of the combustion chamber, increasing the Compression Ratio for enhanced performance.
