Cured Hard Starts on a Cold Day
Install Tips: Spray a good rust penetrant on plugs where they screw in and at the wire spade connectors at least 24 hours in advance. Install Tips GMC 1998 Suburban: You will have to take off the inner fender well on passenger side (15 mins) to get at plug closest to the fire wall, first 3 reachable by just taking off rubber shroud, 2nd from firewall will also need to have heat shield (bolted onto the manifold removed - spay night before as well and use impact wrench). The plug closest to firewall on Drivers side best reachable from under the vehicle. Be prepared for some of the spade connectors to be a problem, two of them I end up breaking tip off of old glow plug and then remove the from plug wire spade connector.

I wont buy these again.
the upper stems (for the electrical connection) are very delicate and snap off before reaching minimum torque spec -you must choose between likely breaking the stems off during installation due to "excessive torquing" or letting the nut vibrate loose after five minutes of driving.
the heating element burns out after 1000 miles MAX.
I will DEFINITELY spring for better glow plugs next time.

Poorly constructed Pay more and get the NGK or Delco
Submitted a year ago
These are poorly constructed. The gripping nut woth the smooth side on the plug make it a struggle to tighten the wire. Thankfully the 2nd one fell apart while trying to tighten the wire took them all back and got NGK. Super high quality and less than 5 minutes to put the rigjt side in
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

What's the overall length of this plug?

Hi Trip, I'm glad to assist you! This Autolite Glow Plug - Part # 1107 has 79.5mm overall length.
Hi there, I am confused about the compatibility of this product and the OEM Motorcraft products. For one of the Motorcraft glow plugs, the date until which the old version is compatible is 12/01/2012 (the ones with the white ring), the new ones from that date (orange ring). For all other glow plugs in question, your website says the date is 02/01/2012. I also looked up other websites and they all say that the date is 12/01/2012. Can you please check if the date you are listing (02/01/2012) is indeed correct or a typo, and it should read 12/01/2012? Thanks!

Hi Dom! Since you didn't mention the specific vehicle, it's hard to tell for sure. There is no product link on your submitted question. To give you the correct information I would need the part number of the product, year, make, model and engine size of the vehicle.

What is the thread pitch on the 10mm dia Autolite 1116 glow plug
Verified Reply - Panda
Hello Aflyer2. Happy to help. The thread pitch is not available for this glow plug. This Glow Plug is an exact fit part that shows to fit 99-05 Volkswagen 1.9litre cylinder diesel.
I'm not clear on the answer to the question already posted about this product. On glow plugs with ceramic tips that extend into the combustion chamber, the ceramic tip can break off & end up inside the cylinder, making it necessary to remove the cylinder head to get the broken-off tip out - an expensive process. Does this Autolite glow plug have a steel tip that extends into the combustion chamber, or is it a ceramic tip?
