Made rear drums springs R&R less of a headache
I hate rear drum brakes and hate working on them even more so, however, this tool does take some of the PIAness out of doing rear drum brakes. Plus, it's a multiple use tool. I actually purchased the $5 spring tool that looks like a screwdriver, however, the store did not have one when I went to get it, so ended up with this tool; glad I did. That little spring hook came in handy for attaching the lower spring (see photo) to the self adjuster lever on a 94 Ranger. I subtracted one star because the piece used to install the return springs seems like it won't last too long as the metal seems pretty soft and gauged pretty easily. If this tool is just for the home shop, it will suffice, however for daily use, you may want a more robust.
Note: the old spring in the photo was replaced with new hardware.

Dont be the guy using a screwdriver to stretch springs & pliers on the backing plate retainers. No, this is not a lifetime warrantied tool from the big guys BUT for the low price it does many jobs & will last longer than it really should-pricewise. The right tool for the job makes everything easier.

Aluminum riveted. Came apart with first use. Also spring hook is at a bad angle to grab springs.
