Detent cables connect the throttle mechanism to the transmission. Old cables can bind, break, or just become sluggish. The best repair is to replace the old cable with a new one. ATP Detent cables are designed to fit and function just like the original part to ensure durability and long life.

Good Cable... But....
Cable works great and does what it is supposed to. I would like to point out that this could be about 8 inches shorter and fit better. I put mine on a 700r4 behind a SBC 350. Also, the rubber grommet was a pain to get into the trans. Spend a good 20 minutes getting it in there, but once i did it fit like a champ.

not a good product, get O.E.
the product was cheaply priced and came shrink wrapped so i know it was new. upon installation in the truck the slider was found to be defective and would completely pop out upon extension like the cable was too short. the throttle cable clip would not stay on the throttle and would fall off when the throttle returned to position. there were slices cut out of the cable sheath, how could this pass QA inspection and be wrapped for sale? had i not lived 30 miles away it would have been returned. i took a loss on it, go get one thats OEM, it will be worth it to save the headache.
