    OEM replacement
This part is easy to install, just jack up your car and take the old one out and put the new one in. Just need a 15mm wrench or socket to get the job done. Its a OEM replacement part and is not meant to improve performance, just gives same performance as it had from the factory.

    inferior part
I am extremely disappointed in the quality of this part. I replaced all 3 mounts at once the first time(including tranny mount) and in the last 3 years I have shredded the rubber out of 3 of these mounts. The last time from the metal mount bracket(part that holds the rubber insert) coming up and down on the bolt with the weight of the engine it wore through the mount bolt enough to snap it. In case your not aware of what happens next, the passenger side of the motor will try to fall through the bottom of the car because the top mounts are hydraulic. It will tear the flex pipe off of your exhaust manifold from being over extended and the only thing that'll stop your engine from hitting the ground will be your lines and your axles, and yes it WILL reach the ground still attached to the hydraulic and transmission mounts.I have since replaced it with a solid Prothane mount and have had no issues with it for almost 3 years. I have installed somewhere between 35-50 dog bone style motor mounts on a couple dozen vehicles, regular and performance, and I have NEVER seen them get destroyed like this unless the car is being hammered on, and I DO NOT beat my car.MORAL: Spend the extra [$] and order a good mount. Its much cheaper than a car.

    Complete Junk
My mothers 1996 Z-24 had a nasty vibration and the engine would jump way too much back and forth when going from reverse to drive. She is 77 years old so its not like she's a 16 year old with a 5 speed doing holeshots. The point is the rubber in the original torque strut was shot after 15 years. So I bought this one and installed it in June. She drives 3000 miles a year tops and within 5 months she called me and said she thought the engine was blown. I looked over the car and it turned out that the new torque strut had literally split in two where the crimps are. The vibration was something from a carnival ride as being broken in two, there was NO strut mount. She had driven the car to the farmers market and home when this happened. The car has 100,000 miles on it now as she used to drive it more but now that she is pushing 80, its basically shopping and errands around town. To make this story even better in the six miles she drove it with the broken strut, the exhaust flex pipe cracked. Now while its a small crack its still something that would not have happened if this part had not pretty much exploded. I should have left the original in there then at least I would not have to replace the flex pipe. For all of you who are like what do expect from a 15 year old car? Know that this car is pristine. It was bought brand new in 1996 and I keep it in great shape. After all this is my mothers car. It is one of the cleanest 96 Z-24s you will ever see. Do you think I would ever take a chance of her breaking down somewhere? I am one of those people who takes care of things when they break and dont wait for things to pile up and then fix them. The moral of all this , dont buy this junk. While I am somewhat in agreement with TwinCamHitMan, the engine will not fall out but the flexpipe will break. To anyone who has to deal with trying to replace a flexpipe without pulling the motor, trust me if you break a bolt or stud, you are screwed. Then the motor will have to come out. So in closing spend the extra money and do not buy these struts that are OEM from any store. In that sense TwinCamHitMan and me are in complete agreement. Go with Prothane on this one. What a headache.
