Steel fasteners are heat treated grade 5 bolts. A special bonding agent is used to ensure a rubber to metal bond. Rubber material is mixed to specific Durometer, hardness.

Not an exact for for 2012 ford explorer
I had to heavily modify this to work. It was not a drop in replacement. There is no bevel where the stud attaches to the bracket.
