Anchor Engine Mount: Right, 1 Piece

2003 Escape XLT: Top mounting bracket not welded onto the Anchor 3056 outer housing correctly. During installation added 1/4" spacer between motor mount top bracket an vehicles inner fender. This is second Anchor 3056 mount purchased first one lasted 18 months. Both have had same mounting bracket location problem. Performs well after installed and price is much less than original equipment part.

Replacement front motor mount (Anchor 3056) 2003 Escape XLT: This is the second Anchor 3056 I have purchase (1) from Advance Auto Parts and (1) from Rock Auto. The Anchor 3056 is not a direct replacement. To install the Anchor 3056 motor mount a spacer must be added between the inner fender and motor mount top bracket. The thickness of the spacer required has varied between the two purchases. The Rock Auto unit required a 1/16" spacer and the Advance unit a 1/4" thick spacer. The motor mount does it's job once installed. Ford dealer wanted approximately $500 for OEM unit and I purchased the Advanced part for $85. First mount lasted 18 months normal highway use. It takes about 1 hour to install even with the modifications. Not as good OEM but for the price I willing to replace it every 18 mos..

Said it was an exact match for my 2005 Mazda Tribute. It was different but worked. I also had to use washers (shims) under fender mount like others. I had to file off the nib that stuck up on top to get it to seat on my bracket. Stopped the steering wheel vibration and noise in cabin. You could see the old one had dropped to allow the bracket to contact the frame of the mount can causing the vibration at idle and while stopped in gear.

The frame mounting tab is manufactured incorrectly and will not sit on or meet the frame member. 1/4 inch shims are required to get it to seat and sit correctly without putting extra stresses on the motor mount.

This replaced the original part that failed at 201,000 miles. The OEM part from Ford retails for [$] and this one is [$] so the cost savings is obvious. After reading the other reviews I decided to try the Anchor part.The part I received didn't require any shims as others encountered. However, the bracket that's welded to the side was attached at an angle that created an alignment problem. Simply poor quality maufacturing in China. After a few test fits,and comparision measurments between the old and new parts I carefully reshaped the bracket with a body hammer and everything aligned.The new part fixed the "clunk" from the failed old part and there aren't any vibration issues so it seems to work fine. How long the part will last is unknown but others claim about 18 months is it. Since I was told it carried a lifetime warranty I kept the box and reciept. It required an additional 20-30 minutes of tweaking vs. a drop in OEM part but was well worth the cost difference.
