Steel fasteners are heat treated grade 5 bolts. A special bonding agent is used to ensure a rubber to metal bond. Rubber material is mixed to specific Durometer, hardness.

Verified Buyer -
Put these on a 1999 SVT Cobra. Had to remove the passenger on and grind the right upper ear down to fit. Made a 4 hour job a 6 hour job. Not really "Exact Fit".
