I believe that in most circumstances, using Original Equipment Parts is the best idea for normal, everyday driving and longevity. It was designed to be used in that particular application and works best.

Caused misfiring
Bought this along with a AC delco rotor and autolite wires to replace mine after a wire rubbed through while resting on the steering column. After replacement, my engine was runnng terrible and I thought it was a sensor that had went bad. After replacing virtually every sensor on the engine trying to get rid of a mis-fire, I hooked a timing light up and found that the #1 plug was firing intermittently. When I pulled on the distributor cap towards the #1 plug, the plug fired as it should. Either the distributor or rotor was out of round or defective.
