Defective - coil destroyed distributor- store refused return
Bought this on sale for my 1988 c2500. Installed fine, but truck ran for only 10 minutes until it died and wouldn't restart. Quickly diagnosed as a bad distributor, it was original to the truck. Replaced entire distributor and it did it again - ran 10 minutes and fried distributor. Took coil to store the Advance location where I bought it and they refused my return because I didn't have receipt - even though it should have been on their system. Terrible product, terrible service.

Bad Coil Out Of The Box

Bought this Coil even though the O.E. Coil was fine to see if it did improve on performance. Drove car a few miles when it started to stall than backfired when trying to restart...Put old one back on, car ran fine..switched back to New Coil with the same results, stalling and backfiring..

Big Improvement
88 Trans Am with 5.7L idles smoother, accelerates much quicker. For the little extra cost over oem equivalent replacement part it's definitely worth it.
