Recycling your car battery allows you to avoid the consequences of illegal disposal.Consumers are charged a core fee if they do not bring back a core to recycle when they purchase a new battery. Recycling your car battery allows you to avoid those fees. Here's another incentive to recycle your car battery: When you bring your used battery to Advance, you can receive up to a $10 gift card through Advance's battery bounty program. 

 **How does the battery bounty gift card program work?**  
 Bring your unwanted automobile or light truck battery to your local Advance store. For every core battery returned, customers receive an Advance Auto Parts gift card worth up to $10 that they can use in-store or online for a future purchase. 

 **Do all recycled car batteries earn a gift card?**  
 No. New battery purchases that require a core return do not qualify for this offer. The offer excludes lawn and garden, power sport, lithium-ion batteries (hybrid vehicle battery packs) and household batteries. 

 **Does Advance Auto Parts buy used batteries?**  
 No, Advance does not buy used car batteries. 

 **Is there a recycling limit?**
