The factory power take off unit (PTU) on certain Ford and Lincoln vehicles often fails when extreme temperatures overheat the internal lubricant. The Drive Motor Battery Pack Coolant Temperature Sensor determines the exact temperature of the battery Pack coolant by sending an analog signal to the ECM to ensure proper operation of the cooling fan(s) or battery heater.
