This oil pressure sensor fit and functioned fine for my 87 Chevy R10 truck. It was located directly above the oil filter and was very simple to change. The diameter is a little larger than the original sensor, but I was still able to fit the factory heat shield over it with a little force. My oil pressure gauge needle now jumps up instantly when I start the truck and holds steady. I've had good luck so far with BWD sensors. Made in Mexico. I wrapped the threads with 6 layers of teflon tape to keep it from leaking.

Had a issue with a notification on the dash saying turn engine off and check oil with constant dinging. Checked oil and level is good. Replaced the oil pressure switch and problem is fixed. Also rep kn aced the oil filter adapter gasket because it was leaking.

part do not come with thread lock compound on threads, received a $5 discount, but had to buy thread lock compound for $6... i could have returned it, but might get the same part without compound again....note that htis was a online order and they operate separately from the stores.

My '97 Suburban wouldn't start. Ended up being a bad oil pressure sensor. The factory original O.P.S. lasted 22 years - 268, 845 miles. Installed one of these, and the Suburban fired right up...but oil pressure was low on the gauge. Cold reading was 25psi, and once the engine warmed up, it would only show 5psi at idle, and 'CHECK GAUGES' warning light came on in the dash. The Suburban previously ran 40-45psi cold, and 20-25psi warm at ide with the original sensor. Figuring the new pressure sensor was faulty, I got another one of them, and swapped it out. Exact same issue! Ordered the proper AC-Delco oil pressure sensor, and now it is fixed!! Back to 45psi cold and 25psi warm like it has been for years! Reading the other reviews, it seems I'm not the only one that had this problem. Oil pressure being off by 20psi is unacceptable!!

I accidentally broke the original sensor while changing the water pump. Picked this new one up at Advance. Now my oil pressure reads much lower. In fact the gauge needle now sits in the red zone and a red light comes on when idling.

This pressure switch shows less oil pressure than the factory switch. I don't know if the factory was incorrect or if this new one is incorrect
