This is the 2nd Kit I've installed... first on the pass side ,, now for the drivers, All goes well but the metal bands are hard to get tight.. So I added some RTV sealer to make a good seal. Messy job but saves a bundle.

Bought this as a last resort and use it as a last resort. The directions are clear, but the part is poor quality. I welded the seems with the supplied glue, but when placed in the joints it had trouble staying together. It came with a shaft plug that was in two pieces(also poor quality), I had to modify this with plumbing tape to get it to stay in the boot. I ended up using high performance glue on the boot as an extra precaution.

My notes in addition to the instructions: 0) Get brake-parts cleaner at the store while purchasing the boot (I found this in the instructions after returning home, so had to go back to the store). 1) Next time, might be able to assemble the split boot on the shaft at a distance from the CV joint, even before removing the old boot. Then if anything goes wrong with assembly you're less committed. 2) Only one tube of sealant for the whole job: use sparingly (more than enough grease, though). 3) The small end of the boot is sealed by a "wedge" adaptor. This didn't fit perfectly, but it forms a somewhat redundant seal, and perhaps the far end of the boot is less critical anyhow (if grease makes it that far from the joint in order to leak out there, then that grease wasn't helping anyhow) 4) When installing the metal clamp/bonds, orient it so the band comes toward you: it's easier to pull with pliars toward yourself/away from the chassis, than away from yourself/toward the chassis.
