      2010 Ford Taurus Limited. The car was having an issue with the peddle going almost to the floor before suddenly grabbing. I knew what the problem was (master cylinder) and while running through my trouble shooting. I ran across this stuck caliper and kinked line. So I fixed this problem first before moving on. Gonna go ahead and put it out there, if you try to find a video for this good luck! So I probably should have made one. But the PICS will work great too. I looked all over and even found a video with the same year model but none had this parking brake style. So it took a couple of different ideas to get this going. I order the parts online and shipped beacuse they dont have any at my stores. I got an email saying order ready. But never got a shipping order. So after 3 days I called the number and they said out for delivery that day! So that was great timing. I posted the PICS with the numbers to try and help. It really feels like you should have 3 hands to do this. So before removing any hardware, go a head and get the parking brake cable off. First place pry bar at the #1 position (follow pic). Then you must push in (3) tabs that are almost impossible to get to all at the same time at the #2 position. I broke 2 off so I only had to deal with one. I felt comfortable doing it but dont recommend for the every day person. Last you must pull the cable shroud with some adjustable plier #3 position (Channel Locks were the only way I could grip it) all while holding the pry bar up. Lucky enough for me the pry bar was the perfect size that the inner fender held it up for me. The descript says rust inhibitor but not painted. Probably gonna go back and paint it. It came with shims and the hose bolt with 2 washers. It did not come with a bleeder screw cover so I used stock one. I put on new pads which went in very easy but not on the other side of car with old stock caliper. I guess tolerances are larger on aftermarket stuff. 4 stars for not being painted

      No brake caliper I've ever bought from Advance has lasted for long before locking up again. On average they last only about 2 years. I researched the typical lifespan of a caliper and it's about 10 years. When I tried to get it replaced based on the warranty after only 22 months of service they refused to do it at the store. I had to call Customer Care who is sending me a reimbursement check minus the tax and only for the caliper, not the pads and rotor their defective caliper destroyed, and only as a "courtesy", not because they admitted they're wrong.

      Bottom Line not recommended

      I had to return two defective calipers to the store. The first one leaked brake fluid. I returned it for exchange and the second caliper was also defective. The store did not have another one in stock so I ended up having to spend $800 at the repair shop!

      I had to return two defective calipers to the store. The first one leaked brake fluid. I returned it for exchange and the second caliper was also defective. The store did not have another one in stock so I ended up having to spend $800 at the repair shop!

      This caliper was for a Ford Taurus Wagon with rear disc brakes. If you purchase these and pick up at the store OPEN THE BOX. Check that the pistons are fully retracted. They don't squeeze in like the front and require a special tool to get them fully open. Adv loans a nice tool. The little square tool you can buy for 10.00 is not very good and this will frustrate you. Sometimes you get lucky and the piston is fully down and other times the builder is lazy and leaves it half retracted.

      No brake caliper I've ever bought from Advance has lasted for long before locking up again. On average they last only about 2 years. I researched the typical lifespan of a caliper and it's about 10 years. When I tried to get it replaced based on the warranty after only 22 months of service they refused to do it at the store. I had to call Customer Care who is sending me a reimbursement check minus the tax and only for the caliper, not the pads and rotor their defective caliper destroyed, and only as a "courtesy", not because they admitted they're wrong.

      Bottom Line not recommended

      I bought left and right calipers. Around the 5 year mark one leaked(not safe) and one is nearly seized (months apart). Originals lasted 15 years and 130K miles, one was had bad parking brake lever, the other was good. Good quality there. Good part is the warranty, but you have to bleed the brakes and spring for new pads with each problem. This time I'll try to get the brake pads warrantied. There may be a different supplier now, so YMMV.

      As noted the item delivered, was not the item listed and pictured as the caliper that was needed. The bleeder screw was already stripped out upon arrival and did nothing but spin in place and leak fluid after testing. The calipers bracket was too large, at least 1/2", to fit into the mounting spindle. The parking brake tension arm was looped, so as to not get the parking brake cable end attached properly. In other words, the original arm is flat with a hook at the end. The one sent has the hook folded onto itself at the end of the arm. Definitely for a newer vehicle than is listed.
