Top off your GM ignition system with these great new replacement coils. The GM coils have MSD performance in factory style housings. MSD designed these coils by combining our blaster coil experience with e-core coil efficiency. Each coil has a unique turns ratio plus there is lower primary resistance than the stock coil. This all amounts to a bolt-in replacement coil that produces more output voltage. The coils will work with stock ignition systems as well as MSD equipped cars and trucks. Installation tip: If you plan to install an MSD ignition with your GM dual connector coil, use PN 8876 harness for a direct plug-in installation.

If you are looking to upgrade your stock coil, or want to compliment the performance of your MSD blaster ignition, MSD 5, 6 or 7, the blaster coil line is the right choice. All of the blaster coils are designed for improved spark output. Special 100:1 windings are used to provide maximum build-up of voltage. These windings are held secure and kept cool in an oil filled metal canister. The tower assembly is molded of durable alkyd material due to its high dielectric characteristics while wide spaced brass primary terminals prevent the possibility of spark. There are several versions of the blaster coil available. All of them have the same internal specifications, but have different housings or components. Each blaster coil can be used with a stock ignition, blaster ignition, MSD 5, 6 or 7 ignition control. Most late model vehicles with electronic ignitions do not require a ballast resistor, check your ignition and manufacturers specifications to determine if a ballast is required in your application.

Hypertech’s Power Coil is capable of firing a street or slightly modified engine up to 7000 RPMs. Voltage gain over stock can exceed up to 57% more output depending on application. Stock coils usually average around 36,000 volts as compared to Hypertech’s coil kits that average between 45,000 and 55,000. Our coil kits include coil, brass terminals, cap, and rotor. Nylon rotor hold-down screws are included to prevent misfire, and our caps are made of high dielectric material to prevent carbon tracking.
