Therefore, the Litens aftermarket part may have minor cosmetic differences but still be exact in performance and design). This popular tensioner is designed with 2 heavy duty steel pulleys. The tensioner pulley which functions as a routing pulley comes unattached to the tensioner since it is used to mount the tensioner to the engine block. The existing bolt and dust shield will be re-used during installation. Choosing The Correct Replacement Part: Both the original equipment and Litens aftermarket tensioner use round spring technology and are marked "Made in Canada". Note: On 11/1/08 Honda issued a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB # 08-082) on this part advising of a tensioner fit issue requiring trimming of the lower timing belt cover. Put this on a 08 Acura MDX the oe came out with ease if you do it on this year MDX I suggest taking off the passenger wheel and get in from there. I reused the oe dust shield for the face and plastic washer on the back it fit like a glove made a night and day difference in sound it's so quiet I also would recommend getting a new belt while doing this job.

About 5 months after installing it, it began making a loud rattling sound. I returned it and got a new one. The replacement was also defective, as I could not rotate it in order to reinstall the serpentine belt. The bolt that is used to apply torq to rotate the tensioner in order to reinstall the serpentine belt stripped the nut. I got the bolt from the returned tensioner, and that bolt snapped while trying to twist the tensioner.

Don't get this one...Installed 100% according to included directions and was stranded on the HWY 10 minutes later with a brand new shredded belt. There is an alignment issue associated with this part, I'll be removing it asap and returning it.
